SKYCITY has sold all its Auckland carparks for $220 million to Macquarie Group to raise funds for future growth.

SKYCITY told the NZX it had sold a long-term concession to operate its Auckland carparks until 30 June 2048. SKYCITY will still own the car park land and buildings and retain responsibility for plant and building services.

The car parks will remain for public use, SKYCITY staff will still have priority access, and SKYCITY will be able to pre-book up to 900 car parks four times a month for gaming promotions.

The agreement also states that SKYCITY cannot complete for car parking space in the Auckland CBD.

The carpark is Auckland’s biggest single-site inner-city carpark.

Just last week SKYCITY wrapped up the A$188 million sale of its Darwin casino to Delaware North.
