Michael Johnson, the new CEO of Tourism Accommodation Australia, has formally begun his role at Tourism Accommodation Australia (TAA).
Michael Johnson promised exciting times ahead for TAA and its members.
“The organisation is currently negotiating a major new aggregated Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) which will revolutionise the way member hotels pay their rising energy costs,” said Johnson.
“This is a landmark deal which will help make a real difference to members – breaking the back of electricity prices.”
Other focusses Johnson wanted to prioritise included continuing the focus on unregulated accommodation, as well as a temporary skilled visa system.
Johnson has considerable experience in the Australian accommodation and tourism sectors, previously working as the general manager of PARKROYAL Parramatta, PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport, Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney as well being on the board of the TAA NSW.
