Accor opens 1100th hotel in Asia Pacific

Accor has opened its 1100th hotel in the Asia Pacific. The launch of the new Sofitel Beijing Central brings Accor’s total room count in the Asia Pacific over 210,000 rooms.

The milestone announcement comes shortly after Accor celebrated its 1000th hotel opening, proving just how quickly the group is growing in the area.

“We have had a record six months since announcing our 1,000th hotel with the Pullman Tokyo Tamachi late last year, and it’s incredible to think that we have added another 100 hotels already since then,” said Michael Issenberg, chairman and chief executive officer, Accor Asia Pacific.

Accor is the largest hotel group in the Asia Pacific and has the largest pipeline in the Asia Pacific, opening 128 hotels in the region last year. On average, Accor opens a new hotel every 36 hours and a new hotel in the Asia Pacific every three days.
