Hilton runs eleven Hilton Canopy hotels around the world. Nine of the properties are based in the United States, and the others are in Iceland and Croatia.

Now, Hilton is opening a Canopy hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, marking the brand’s debut in the Asia Pacific.

The new build Canopy by Hilton Bangkok Sukhumvit will have 176-rooms, and open in 2022.

The property is opening after Hilton signed a management agreement with Thailand-based real estate developer Lucky Living Properties Co., Ltd.

“We are committed to growing our brand presence across (the) Asia-Pacific and bringing Canopy by Hilton into a top travel destination such as Bangkok will be a tremendous addition to our growing portfolio,” said Gary Steffen, global head, Canopy by Hilton.

Canopy is one of Hilton’s lifestyle brands and embraces its location with authentic experiences.

“The city has seen exponential growth in tourist arrivals in recent years, and as we know, from interacting with our guests, that many are on the lookout for accommodations that allow them to experience the destination as a local, which is exactly what Canopy by Hilton will offer in the Sukhumvit neighbourhood.”

Hilton currently operates nine properties in Thailand across four brands: Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, and DoubleTree by Hilton.

The company has expansions plans which include opening another five hotels in Thailand over the next three to five years.

Hilton also plans to open properties under the Canopy brand before the Bangkok hotel in new international locations like Paris, and Longkloof (South Africa).
