Recognising the country’s best bed and breakfasts

Every year the Bed & Breakfast Association Award programme recognises the best bed and breakfast properties in the country.

The programme awards were judged by Tourism Industry Aotearoa’s chief executive Chris Roberts, and the B&B Association’s president and vice president who presented awards for the Supreme B&B Business of the Year, Emerging B&B Business of the Year (for properties open two years or fewer) and B&B Host of the Year.

Bellbird Lodge, Kaiteriteri, owned by Anthea and Brian Harvey, winners of the 2019 Supreme B&B Business of the Year award.

“The calibre of entries in all categories this year is extremely high, each one deserves the highest praise,” said Rayma Jenkins, president, Bed & Breakfast Association New Zealand.

“A hallmark of a stay in a hosted bed and breakfast is a personalised experience for our guests.  There is no one formula for operating, and this is certainly true of our entrants.”

The 2019 Supreme B&B Business Award of the Year went to Bellbird Lodge, Kaiteriteri, owned by Anthea and Brian Harvey.

Acacia Heights Gardens, Taupo, owned by Heather and David Bridson won the 2019 Emerging B&B Business of the Year Award.

The 2019 B&B Host of the Year Award winner was Morepork Riverside Lodge, Paihia, run by Barb and Paul Linton.
