The 2019 New Zealand Hotel Industry Awards recognise the achievements and hard work of individuals in the New Zealand hotel industry in a variety of roles ranging from front office services to general manager.
Staff and properties from cities right across the country were among the award winners at a gala dinner which closed out the two-day New Zealand Hotel Industry Conference.
The judging process involved choosing candidates who demonstrated a number of exceptional factors, from earning recognition from hotel guests beyond the ordinary, demonstrating outstanding commitment to their employer, undergoing training to advance their career, as well as a variety of personal attributes such as their attitude and ability to anticipate guests’ needs.
Horwath HTL director Stephen Hamilton said the judges had a difficult time selecting the winners in many categories this year.
“It was clear that a lot of time and effort went into preparing many of the nominations, so the judges had plenty of good information to make their decisions,” said Stephen Hamilton.
