Last week at the New Zealand Hotel Industry Awards held at Cordis Auckland, the hosting hotel picked up one of the big awards.
Frederique Irion received the New Zealand Hotel Industry Concierge of the Year 2019 Award, winning over strong finalists from Heritage Hotel Auckland and SKYCITY Grand Hotel, Auckland.
“Frederique arrived at the hotel with a wealth of knowledge having worked in the front office department in various roles but also as a concierge, and from a variety of locations including her native France, and Australia,” said Shane Jolly, hotel manager, Cordis.
“This well-rounded foundation was evident from the beginning of Frederique’s time with us. She quickly learned about the hotel and started to show that she was confident and comfortable in her role.
"It was clear that Frédérique demonstrated the qualities that all Hoteliers look for in their colleagues – the caring and thoughtfulness that makes guests want to come back.”
