Tourism Industry Aotearoa (TIA) has announced five priority areas to ensure the longevity of tourism in New Zealand.
- Sustainable growth
- Improved data and insight
- Building the tourism workforce
- Destination management and planning
- Carbon and climate change
This release of strategic priorities comes following the release of two similarly aligned frameworks announced earlier this year by TIA and the Government. The main goal is to ensure that New Zealand’s tourism sector is both prospering and sustainable.
“Like the industry, the Government wants tourism growth to be productive, sustainable and inclusive,” said Chris Roberts, TIA chief executive. “We can only achieve that by steering the waka in the same direction.”
