Despite being still in their early twenties, Thibault Corens and Nishan Jain are making waves in the hospitality industry with their invention Presso, a dry-cleaning kiosk that cleans, steams, and dries a garment in minutes.
The duo met five years ago as students at Purdue University in Indiana, USA. “We took all the same classes in the first semester,” Corens told Hotel Magazine. Since then, the young entrepreneurs have been involved in a few different start-ups – Corens and a colleague secured US$17,000 in 2018 on a board game Kickstarter campaign. With Presso, the duo have seemingly tapped into a growing demand for smart, innovative hospitality technology.
“More and more you can see hotel tech being implemented at a rapid pace all over the world,” said Corens. “Automated check-in and out, robots for storing luggage, cleaning robots, food delivery robots – all within the hotel. Presso offers an on-demand dry-cleaning service that every business traveller so desperately needs.”
The pair have already secured trials for Presso kiosks in sixteen hotels across the USA starting in late August, with plans for more in the near future. “We have gotten a lot of interest from different countries around the world. Our first market will be the United States, but we plan on expanding fairly quickly,” said Corens. Watch this space.
