WAVES OF EXPANSION

Sudima Auckland City (scheduled for 2020).

Sudima Hotels and HIND Management are making wages of promotions amidst further expansions. Over the coming months, two new hotels will be welcomed, as well as the development of existing properties.

Ifti Hussain has been appointed general manager of the North Island Hotels, as of immediately. Ifti will still be based at the Sudima Auckland Airport but will oversee three properties including Sudima Lake Rotorua and Sudima Auckland City (scheduled to open 2020), along with Sudima Kaikoura (also opening 2020).

The Sudima Auckland Airport is also receiving a new executive chef in Dharma Shah. Shah has extensive international and local culinary training and experience.

Megan Obrien moves up in her role at Sudima Lake Rotorua from advisor to talent and culture manager. Obrien has an impressive breadth of experience and in-house knowledge and will continue to support the senior team and develop talent and initiatives in the region. Additionally, Samantha Roebuck is now Rotorua’s food and beverage manager and will be responsible for overseeing the entire food and beverage operation at the hotel.

At Sudima Christchurch Airport, James Wilson is joining hotel manager Ana Vivas and her team as the executive assistant manager. Wilson comes from Tauranga and brings with him knowledge of running a successful food operation as general manager, as well as a host of other experience.

Sudima Auckland Airport is also getting a new rooms division manager in Roma Patel. Patel joins after previously having served as national reservations and yield manager based at HIND’s management support office in Auckland.

“The group continues to go from strength to strength thanks to the talents, commitment and hard work of our people,” said Sudima Hotels’ CEO and founder, Sudesh Jhunjhnuwala. “We are pleased to welcome Dharma and James to the group and to recognise the efforts of Ifti, Rajas, Kevin, Shelley, Megan, Samantha and Roma, all of who continue to strive towards their own career goals while uplifting the entire Sudima Hotels Group.”

“As the group expands, adding Sudima Christchurch City this year and new developments in Kaikoura and Auckland in 2020, it becomes even more important to have great people who understand our vision.”
