Sudima’s New Plant-Focused, Modern Asian Restaurant

The new 4.5 star Sudima Auckland City hotel makes a statement with its brand new plant-focused restaurant, perfect for flexitarians.

Situated opposite the New Zealand International Convention Centre, the 194-room single-use-plastic-free hotel is Sudima Hotels' seventh investment in New Zealand hotels. It also advances the group's focus on sustainable and socially responsible best practice.

Sudima Auckland City represents a $65 million investment in the local economy. Auckland-based founder and CEO of Sudima, Sudesh Jhunjhnuwala expressed that the development will be a significant addition to the Sudima Hotels portfolio and an example of its continued investment in New Zealand despite the current impact on the tourism industry.

"Our commitment to the hotel and tourism industry is unchanged, and we are pleased to have opened the doors at Sudima Auckland City and having Kaikoura and Queenstown openings on the horizon," said Jhunjhnuwala.

"We hope that both New Zealanders and international travellers, as they start to return, enjoy our properties and hospitality for their travels, whether for business or leisure. Sudima Auckland City is easy walking distance to central Auckland's bustling shopping, arts, dining and entertainment precincts, which makes it a great location for visitors to the city."

Sudima Auckland City will be equipped with high-quality service and amenities that Sudima Hotels are known for. To add to the experience, Sudima Auckland City will have a new addition called the u-room.

The u-room is designed around the principles of self-care. The u-room will promote wellbeing with little touches that make a big difference. Furnished with everything guests expect from a modern hotel, the u-rooms will also feature timber floors, natural muted colours, a bed placed in the centre of the room - facing the window to maximise the view, a self-care pack with a selection of healthy snacks and little pamper luxuries, and a yoga kit including instructional videos available on the in-room TV.

Sudima Auckland City also offers a unique lunch and dinner experience with its modern Asian plant-focused eatery; East. East has already established a name for itself in the Auckland food scene.

East offers sustainable, health-conscious eating without sacrificing taste. The team of chefs represents culinary talent from Japan, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, India and Sri Lanka. They take inspiration from near and far East to present an innovative and flavourful vegetarian menu of bites, small plates and larger dishes designed to share. The drinks menu features all organic and vegan-friendly wines, bespoke cocktails and sustainable New Zealand craft beer.
