One of the world’s leading hotel giant IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed two new voco hotels in Guadalajara and Saltillo, Mexico, marking the debut of the upscale hospitality brand to the Mexico market.

Owned by Vertex Ophthalmic Group, the voco hotel Guadalajara Neruda is set to open in late 2022 and will occupy five floors of the Neruda 2828 mixed-use tower in the city’s financial district. Featuring 104 guestrooms, a neighbourhood restaurant and bar, a rooftop terrace, and business and fitness centres, the hotel will be the perfect stay away from home for both business and leisure travellers.

“The new voco hotel is an ideal fit for the Guadalajara Neruda complex, which will bring a modern vibe and a host of professional, commercial and leisure visitors to the area,” said Jorge Celis, COO, Vertex Ophthalmic Group.

Owned and developed by American Hotels Group, the voco hotel Saltillo is scheduled to open in 2023, replacing a property originally built as an independent hotel in 2006. The property will feature 125 guest suites, over 700 square feet of meeting space, an indoor pool, fitness centre, a restaurant and a bar. Located in Saltillo’s automotive and manufacturing district, the new hotel will be adjacent to the American Sports Centre recreation complex.

“Whether visiting for business or recreation, guests of voco Saltillo will enjoy a unique blend of the familiar feels of home and the curiosity and potential for discovering the area,” said Juan Carlos Saade, General Director, American Hotels Group.

According to German Ongay, Regional Vice President of Development, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Guadalajara and Saltillo are the perfect locations to introduce their emerging and fastest-growing upscale brand to Mexico. The company is delighted to partner with Vertex Ophthalmic Group and American Hotels Group to transform the two properties a reality.
