Outrigger has announced two key executive appointments - Steve Miller as the new general manager for Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort and Cesar Herrera as the company’s new vice president of design and construction.

As the new general manager, Miller oversees the Outrigger Waikiki Beach resort, delivering exceptional leadership and support for his team to provide high-quality guest experiences while ensuring profitability, host engagement and development.

With an extensive background in the management and running of resorts under various brands, Miller started his hospitality career with Hyatt Hotels Corporation and worked up the ladder from assistant to the executive housekeeper to front office manager to regional executive assistant manager. Before joining the Outrigger family, he undertook the role of complex general manager at Westin/Sheraton Birmingham in Alabama. He has also been a general manager at Hyatt Regency Birmingham, Marriott Clearwater Beach, Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa, Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa, and the Beverly Heritage Hotel.

Miller graduated from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and Paul Smith’s College in New York with a bachelor’s degree in hotel management and an associate degree in hotel and restaurant management.

As the new vice president of design and construction for Outrigger, Herrera now manages all capital projects in the company’s international portfolio of hotels and resorts while offering advisory and supervisory services. This appointment is key to Outrigger’s plans for expansions and redevelopment across Hawai’i, the Asia Pacific and the Indian Ocean.

Herrera has ample experience in a broad range of projects - from addition and enhancement of assets to budget development and oversight, conceptual visioning and design coordination, to project management and execution.

Prior to this new role, Herrera was the vice president of development and construction for Mina Group out of San Francisco. Before this, he was tenured at Kimpton Hotels for 18 years, beginning his career as a project engineer before moving up to senior director of development and construction. With an expansive list of successful projects, including new builds, renovations, adaptive reuse, tenant improvements and technical service projects, Outrigger is excited to welcome Herrera.
