World-leading IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the extension of its multi-property development agreement with tristar GmbH for the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), expanding the growth ambition to Italy and Poland.
This year, tristar GmbH will open four new Holiday Inn Express hotels and a Hotel Indigo in Vienna, propelling the brand into the Austrian market. The agreement further develops IHG's existing partnership with tristar GmbH and will grow to 60 hotels by 2035, with developments planned in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and Poland.
The DACH region remains a key strategic market for IHG, with 88 hotels currently operating in Germany and 27 properties in the pipeline, including those overseen by tristar GmbH. Meanwhile, there are 17 open hotels and six pipeline properties in Austria and Switzerland.
The tristar GmbH IHG hotel openings for 2022 include:

- Holiday Inn Express Dusseldorf Airport
