IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hospitality companies, has revealed a five-strong hotel signing agreement across southern Europe with Grape Hospitality.
The five properties include voco Madrid Centre Retiro – a brand debut for the voco in Spain; three Hotel Indigo properties in Florence, Italy; Bordeaux, France; and Barcelona, Spain, respectively, and Crowne Plaza Madrid Centre Retiro.
All three brands are going from strength to strength. Currently, Hotel Indigo boasts 40 open hotels and 19 pipeline hotels in Europe; meanwhile, voco has grown to 15 open hotels in Europe with the recent opening of voco Dusseldorf Seestern and voco Venice Mestre - The Quid. The Crowne Plaza brand has 88 open hotels across Europe, including the recently opened Crowne Plaza Budapest.

voco Madrid Centre Retiro
Due to open in April 2024, the 193-room voco Madrid Centre Retiro will mark the first voco hotel to open in Spain. The property will feature voco’s unstuffy hallmark amenities, from a welcoming gift and simple check-in to vibrant social spaces and guestrooms with thoughtful comforts like cosy bedding and luxury bathroom amenities.
Hotel Indigo Florence
Set to open later this year, Hotel Indigo Florence boasts a prime location two minutes’ walk from Santa Maria Novella, the main railway station, and is near many attractions, including the magnificent Duomo and iconic Ponte Vecchio bridge. The hotel will comprise 160 bedrooms, conference facilities and a wellness centre.
Hotel Indigo Bordeaux
Opening in May 2023, the 100-room Hotel Indigo Bordeaux will mark the third Hotel Indigo-branded hotel in France. Based in Bordeaux Chartrons, the property is located in a sophisticated and leafy neighbourhood with lively bistros in Place du Marché Chartrons, waterside dining and eclectic shops.
Hotel Indigo Barcelona Gran Via Plaza España
Scheduled to open in April 2024, the 189-room Hotel Indigo Barcelona Gran Via Plaza España will be the second Hotel Indigo in Barcelona. Guests will be close to the Museum of Catalan Art (MNAC) and a quick bus ride into the city's heart with its plethora of art galleries, parks and beaches.
Crowne Plaza Madrid Centre Retiro
Due to opening in April 2024 in a prime part of Madrid, the 168-room Crowne Plaza Madrid Centre Retiro will be ideal for leisure and business travellers. Located close to the airport, it will mark the second Crowne Plaza property to open in Madrid.
