Covering the period from Monday, September 26 to Sunday October 2, there have been 9975 new community cases of Covid-19 reported across the country in the past week.
There were 1422 new daily cases, on average – up slightly on the week prior where there were 9809 new community cases reported with a daily community case average of 1398.
As of midnight on Sunday, there were 111 people in hospital with the virus, including seven in an intensive care or high dependency care unit.
To date, there have been 2038 deaths attributed to Covid-19 since the pandemic began, the ministry said. The rolling seven-day average of deaths attributed to Covid was one.
