Outrigger Hospitality Group has welcomed Angela Murphy on board as the new vice president of sales – The Americas.
Murphy will work alongside the commercial strategy stakeholders to innovate key sales strategies for the brand’s Waikīkī Collection, Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa and other Hawai‘i properties. In collaboration with other corporate sales leaders, she will offer leadership and support for property sales strategy, planning and execution of the company’s portfolio of branded, managed, and third-party franchise properties with a focus on the main Hawai‘i-owned assets in Waikīkī and Kona.
Other responsibilities Murphy will undertake include driving strategy and process refinement in the expanding groups and wedding market segments; leading the Outrigger Expert Advisor and Outrigger Business Connection programmes; serving as overall Delphi and Hubspot champion; and spearheading the company services sales and North America independent contractor network.
Prior to this role, Murphy was a global director of sales and marketing consultant for a portfolio of contracted clients in New York, Northern California, Portland and worldwide destinations. In her wealth of experience, she has also served as co-founder of non-profit Food For Change; area director of sales & marketing for Proper Hospitality and also Viceroy Hotels and Resorts; global director of sales & marketing for One&Only / Kerzner International for Australia and the United States; and key account director for IHG for Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom.
With a Bachelor of Business in management from Griffith University under her belt, Murphy also holds an honours certificate in international travel and tourism from Advanced Careers College, both institutions in Australia.
