Pipeline: Novotel & ibis New Yogyakarta International Airport Kulon Progo

Accor is strengthening its presence in Indonesia with the signing of two hotels at the new Yogyakarta International Airport. The launch of Novotel and ibis New Yogyakarta International Airport Kulon Progo will introduce two highly respected and trusted brands to the gateway of Yogyakarta, one of the country's largest cities and most culturally-rich destinations.

This dual-branded project will boast a strategic location just a five-minute drive from the airport and about 45 minutes from the heart of Yogyakarta. It will feature a combined 413 keys in a single development, with two distinct wings connected by an elegant façade, which welcomes guests into a serene atmosphere with lush, landscaped foliage. Each property will showcase its unique design and dedicated facilities while sharing back-of-house areas for efficiency.

Novotel New Yogyakarta International Airport Kulon Progo will comprise 189 rooms, a swimming pool, a children's pool, a kids' area, a spa and a fitness centre. Guests can enjoy all-day dining and refreshments at the restaurant and bar with 360-degree views of the surrounding landscape. For events, the hotel will offer two floors of meeting space, including a 700-square-metre ballroom and nine meeting rooms. The 11-storey Novotel is housed within a sleek, fully glazed wing with a stylish blue, grey and brown colour scheme.

ibis New Yogyakarta International Airport Kulon Progo will comprise 224 rooms in a stylish nine-storey glass and aluminium tower. The grey and charcoal façade perfectly matches its Novotel neighbour, and the interiors - including its guestrooms - will showcase works by local artists, highlighting Yogyakarta's status as a hot hub of Indonesian art and culture. Dedicated facilities will include a lobby lounge, gym, kids' room, nursery and an all-day restaurant. Three meeting rooms and a pre-function space will be available for events.

Owned by PT. Lentera Prosper Indo and managed by Accor, the two new-built hotels are currently under construction. The dual-branded property is set to open its doors in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Yogyakarta International Airport opened in 2020 with an annual capacity of 15 million passengers, making it one of Indonesia's largest airports and a gateway to the entire Central Java region. A second phase of development will see the annual capacity raised to 20 million passengers. The airport offers direct connections to Asian destinations such as Jakarta, Bali, Kuala Lumpur and, from October 2022, Singapore.
