Lylo, a new innovative lifestyle budget accommodation experience, is opening its first location in New Zealand on December 1. The Lylo will be located at 54 Cook Street, Auckland CBD.
Created in collaboration with CPRW Architecture, the Lylo creates a multi-purpose space suitable for cost-conscious and savvy travellers to play, eat, work, and sleep. 190 private sleeping pods, 37 private double rooms and 70 private ensuite bathrooms are available, alongside shared amenities, a large shared kitchen and multiple breakout spaces.

The private pods are self-contained and feature king single beds, Bluetooth storage lockers, multiple power and USB charging ports, Wi-Fi, individual lighting, a fan, a mirror and acoustic privacy screens.
Environmentally thoughtful design elements can also be found throughout the space, including the use of recycled building materials, bathroom amenity holders made from recycled America's Cup sails and EV charging stations.
Lylo Auckland also incorporates the work of local artists, such as the Auckland-based FLOX, whose Kiwiana mural design can be seen on the location's entrance.
Other Kiwi enterprises like Comfi, Mood, and Made of Tomorrow worked with Lylo to kit out the space so that it is reflective of its environment.

Within Lylo is Miss Lucy's, Lylo's lively and affordable bar that allows both locals and travellers to socialise over drinks and food without breaking the bank. Overlooking Nelson street, the bar is kitted out with a giant shuffleboard and an elevated DJ podium.
Managing Director of Lylo Tim Alpe noted that its flagship Lylo property aims to give travellers the perks of communal and social travel while providing sufficient privacy and comfortable sleeping space.

"We've torn up the rulebook and turned budget accommodation on its head. We can't wait to welcome travellers to what will be the largest lifestyle budget accommodation of its kind in New Zealand and will reset the benchmark for this sector globally".
Two more Lylo locations are set to open in Christchurch and Queenstown in 2023.
