Hyatt Hotels Corporation has revealed plans for the 168-room Thompson Palm Springs, which will mark the brand’s second property in California. The hotel is expected to open later this year and will offer panoramic views of the San Jacinto Mountains and the city of Palm Springs.
Thompson Palm Springs is set to be a 168-room hotel, as revealed in plans announced by the Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
This is the company’s second hotel property in California and is expected to open in late 2023. The location is complete with panoramic views of the surrounding San Jacinto Mountains, as well as the Palm Springs city centre.
Vice President of real estate and development at Hyatt, Kimo Bertram said that downtown Palm Springs is the ideal location for one of the brand’s newest hotels.
“Thompson Palm Springs will add to the growing number of properties within our Thompson Hotels brand portfolio throughout California and globally. We look forward to collaborating with Hall Group to introduce this new lifestyle hotel to the market that will epitomize the world-renowned sophistication and unique culture of Palm Springs,” said Bertram.
The plans have been designed by interior design firm B2 Architecture + Design and SMS Architecture, and will be developed by the Hall group based in Dallas, Texas. The property will also include a signature restaurant, spa and fitness centre, lounge areas, walking trails, and two outdoor pools. There will be a meeting space of 8,000 square feet, and 20,000 square feet of ground-level restaurant and retail space as well.
There are currently 18 Thompson Hotels around the world, with a further four due to open by the end of 2024 in Houston, Miami, Mexico, and Shanghai.
