The annual Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards have highlighted the best value accommodation worldwide, praising many hotels and resorts in the New Zealand and Australian region.
Hotel chain, Minor Hotels, has strongly impacted the 2023 winners list, with 14 properties in the region listed. Based on the past month's reviews, each of the winner's rates is among Tripadvisor's top 10 percent of businesses.
The awards focus on brands, properties and destinations that have delivered excellent guest experiences. Craig Hooley, chief operating officer for Minor Hotels in Australia and New Zealand, said being featured in the prestigious awards was an honour.
“Our guests are our number one priority, and earning their respect and recognition is a testament to the outstanding customer service and tireless commitment of our entire team, which goes from strength to strength every year,” said Hooley.
The travel resurgence seen in the past year has contributed drastically to local tourism and created heightened competition in the travel sector. Tripadvisor chief growth officer, John Boris, said that earning a Travellers’ Choice Award demonstrates that hotels have provided great experiences for guests.
“With changing expectations, continued labour shortages, and rising costs, this is no easy feat, and I am continually impressed with the hospitality industry’s resilience and ability to adapt,” said Boris.
Avani Auckland Metropolis Residences was featured as one of the 14 Minor properties on the list.
