New Zealand-owned Capstone Hotel Management has been appointed as the new management company for Portage Resort, taking over reservations and trade enquiries.
Established in the early 1900s, The Portage features 42 hotel rooms, a restaurant and the Snapper Bar, popular amongst the locals, along with an outdoor pool and a range of on-site activities close to the famous Queen Charlotte Track.
This marks the beginning of a new chapter for Portage Resort as the Capstone adds its touch and reintroduces the property and new leadership team to the tourism sector.
“Clare Davies (M.D. Capstone) and her team have a strong understanding of the top of the south region and in particular the Marlborough Sounds, having worked with lodges in the area, including management of Awaroa Lodge in the Abel Tasman National Park,” said Letitia Morettini, the owners’ representative for the Marlborough Sounds property.
An open day is scheduled to be held on the 6th of October for local tourism operators and the community to meet the new management team and learn about their plans for the property.
