Regent Expanding to Santa Monica

Regent Hotels is expanding its footprint to one of the world's most famous beaches, Santa Monica. The premiere destination, set to open in Summer 2024, is just steps from the iconic tourist hot spot Santa Monica Pier.

This opening will mark the first United States destination for the reimagined Regent Hotels & Resorts brand, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts luxury and lifestyle portfolio.

The Regent Santa Monica Beach Hotel will encapsulate a blend of timeless elegance and thoughtful luxury inspired by the sought-after Californian coastline. The new location hopes to make visitors feel worlds away while remaining within the city's excitement.

The resort will feature expansive and tranquil rooms and suites, a stunning beachfront pool deck, and a 10,000-square-foot wellness spa in collaboration with luxury brand Guerlain. Guests will also have access to a beach butler service and a selection of culinary destinations chosen by chefs.

"The addition of Regent Santa Monica Beach to the Santa Monica communities promises to deliver an unprecedented experience for travellers and locals alike," said Younes Atallah, General Manager of the resort.

"With a commitment to distinguished, bespoke service alongside an alluring oceanfront location, we are eager to share this incredibly special property with the world and welcome guests to indulge in a modern evolution of traditional luxury."

Inspired by the glamour, serenity, and splendour of Beverly Hills, Regent Santa Monica is comprised of 24 beautifully appointed suites and 143 guest rooms. Guest rooms start at 720 square feet, with spacious bathrooms featuring soaking bathtubs and rainfall showers.

The project's predicted budget is USD $150 million, and renowned firms AvroKO and Wimberly Interiors are shaping the layout and design.

Orla, the new hotel's signature restaurant, will incorporate the zest and charm of the Mediterranean into the Santa Monica beachfront.

"Orla is an incredibly personal concept for me because it is inspired by my childhood," explained Head Chef, Michael Mina.

"The earthiness of za'atar, the tang of citrus, and the intricate layers of a perfectly cooked piece of fish or charcoal-grilled meat takes me back to the captivating flavours I grew up with."

Guests of the soon-to-open Regent Santa Monica Hotel can expect to experience distinctive brand hallmarks such as highly personalised music selections, scent, literature, and other uplifting experiences.
