Watervale Hotel Strikes Gold

Watervale Hotel

Award-winning culinary destination, The Watervale Hotel, has won ‘Best Culinary  Experience in the World’ at the Travel and Tourism Awards, presented by LuxLife. The award has marked the Australian hotel's second win in a row.

Located just beyond Adelaide’s city limits, Watervale Hotel in Clare Valley has been described as an exemplar for locally sourced food, which has showcased all the various wine varieties grown in the internationally renowned vineyard region. Fittingly, The Watervale Hotel also won the title of ‘Best Farm to Table  Restaurant’, which is a reflection of its commitment to sustainability and its ethos of using the best of what the surrounding environs have to offer.

With the property directly across the road developed into a herb garden, edible flower garden and native food and flower gardens, The Watervale Hotel has provided inspiration for the seasonal menu as well as herbs and garnishes for the bar staff.

The hotel has offered an immersive Penobscot Farm Tour paired with a six-course degustation dining experience. Guests can enjoy exquisite dishes matched with the finest Clare Valley wines or Penobscot mocktails, all while seated at the prestigious Chef’s Table.

Similarly, the nearby orchard has been restored through pruning and irrigation to its former glory and is producing beautiful produce that guests see on the plate. Finally,  the hotel’s Penobscot Farm is being developed into a bio-dynamic, organic farm,  growing a wide range of seasonal fruits, nuts, leaves and vegetables. It will become home to an assortment of animals, including chickens and bees, largely employed to assist in farming.

Commissionable accommodation packages have been designed to specifically fit the needs of each traveller at the Watervale Hotel. Located just 90 minutes north of Adelaide, the Clare Valley makes a great stopover for clients en route to the Flinders Ranges and Outback.
