Melbourne’s Newest Airport Hotels

Anticipation has built in the lead-up to the launch of Melbourne's largest and most significant airport hotel development.

The dual-branded Novotel and Ibis Styles Melbourne Airport will open at the beginning of July, providing travellers with convenient and luxurious accommodation.

Set to be the first new-build internationally branded hotel to open at Melbourne Airport in over two decades, Novotel and ibis Styles Melbourne Airport will offer travellers all the luxuries and amenities of a city hotel while remaining within walking distance of Terminal 4.

The project, designed by FK Architect with interiors by Woods Bagot, cost AUD 230 million. It will have 464 stylishly designed guest rooms split across the Novotel and Ibis Styles located within The Hive precinct.

"Not only will the newly built hotels provide more choice for travellers seeking a place to stay, but they will also offer a welcoming hub for the workers in the airport precinct," said Adrian Williams, Accor Pacific COO.

"Having just been voted the best airport in Australia and the Pacific, it's only fitting that Melbourne Airport will now be able to meet the increasing demand for more hotel rooms and have greater choice."

Inspired by the beauty of regional Victoria, Novotel Melbourne Airport's natural palette will deliver a sense of space and openness.

The ibis Styles Melbourne Airport will depict the urban grain of Melbourne with a uniquely personalised and playfully fun aesthetic.

Capitalising on Melbourne's reputation as the culinary capital of Australia, travellers will be able to experience three venues, including Small Holdings Cafe, Boccata Restaurant and Wine Bar and Amber State Taphouse & Kitchen.

"Melbourne is now Australia's largest city, and these hotels are essential for the growing number of people visiting our city, many of whom need a night before or after a long flight," said Stuart Verrier, head of property development and asset development at Melbourne Airport.

"But more than that, they also offer dining, wellness, conference and co-working facilities that provide a reason to come to Melbourne Airport, even if you're not flying."

Located in the City of Hume, Novotel and ibis Styles Melbourne Airport offer easy access to Melbourne Airport and are close to local attractions.

In addition, the hotel is working on building substantial partnership programmes with local attractions, which will add an exciting layer of experience for guests of both hotels.
