The bachelorette

American reality television show “The Bachelorette” has spent part of its production in New Zealand, showcasing the Woodhouse Mountain Lodge.

The Woodhouse Mountain Lodge, located just south of Warkworth, has played a starring role in the latest season of the US reality show, “The Bachelorette”. The episode is set to air in the US on ABC and Hulu in early August.

The episode will feature the newest Bachelorette, Jenn Tran, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Woodhouse Mountain Lodge, nestled in the heart of the Matakana hinterland, an hour’s drive from Auckland.

Jenn Tran is a compassionate individual currently pursuing a career as a physician assistant while residing in vibrant Miami. Her journey on “The Bachelorette” showcases her quest for a deep connection with someone who shares her values of kindness and reliability. Beyond her studies, Tran enjoys exploring literature, paddleboarding along Miami’s shores, and embarking on adventures to new destinations.

Woodhouse Mountain Lodge is located on 100 acres of private land, offering secluded and contemporary villa accommodations set high above surrounding land with lofty views extending to the Hauraki Gulf. The lodge provides a perfect blend of comfort and adventure, making it an ideal destination for romantic getaways and unforgettable experiences.

General Manager of Woodhouse Mountain Lodge, Tanisha Legg, said the television show was great exposure for the lodge.

“It’s about getting our name out there and showcasing New Zealand as a destination and a beautiful country,” said Legg.

Legg added that she hoped “The Bachelorette” would entice more American tourists to visit the lodge, and that it would have a great impact on New Zealand tourism.

The Matakana hinterland is well-known as a popular tourist destination. Legg said it was the perfect location for a weekend getaway.

“There’s so much to do up here, starting with the Matakana Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. We have amazing sculpture trails, and our wineries are popular all year round.”
