COMO Hotels has announced its latest range of Iconic Experiences for guests to indulge in, found across its international portfolio.
COMO Hotels and Resorts launched its Iconic Experiences on September 10, 2024, designed to inspire travellers to explore more deeply in the ten countries where the brand operates, from Fiji to Bhutan. Each experience offers a unique blend of location, expertise, and meticulous attention to detail. With over 50 offerings, there is something for everyone—adventurers, food enthusiasts, wine lovers, and those seeking spiritual rejuvenation. These experiences are rare because they offer a distinct combination of access and insight into local places, people, and cultures.
Christina Ong, COMO’s founder-owner, highlights the importance of authenticity in the Iconic Experiences campaign.
"How to shine a spotlight on local quality rather than globalised clichés? What is the value of privileged access in a world where ‘exclusive’ has been devalued by overuse? I ask myself these questions all the time," said Ong.
"These are also the questions which lie at the heart of our new Iconic Experiences campaign."
COMO's CEO, Olivier Jolivet, emphasised the brand’s commitment to offering unique luxury experiences.
"COMO has a quirky portfolio of locations, from Bhutan to the South Pacific. For more than thirty years, our investment choices have been driven by a genuine desire to offer our customers something unique," said Jolivet.
"We’ve blazed trails ahead of other luxury brands, from the northern Caribbean to the Himalayas and Burgundy. We’re constantly striving to give more meaning to luxury to exceed our guests’ expectations by investing in the time it takes to get things right. Our new range of iconic experiences distils the essence of what drives us, to offer quality, uncommon access ahead of the curve."
One example is the spiritual awakening at Kedara, a hidden water garden near Ubud, Bali. The sacred pools, fed by a holy spring, are traditionally used for Hindu blessings. Guests at COMO Shambhala Estate have exclusive access to private blessing ceremonies conducted by a Balinese priest.
For adventure seekers, COMO offers horseback riding on Fiji’s Laucala Island, where guests can swim bareback in the Pacific Ocean. Riders traverse the island’s scenic beaches and forests, led by the resident Fijian ‘Horse Whisperer.’
Wine lovers can enjoy e-biking through Burgundy’s famous vineyards, guided by a local expert while staying at COMO Le Montrachet. This experience combines history, culture, and the opportunity to taste world-renowned wines.
In the Maldives, guests at COMO Maalifushi can embark on fishing charters or night snorkelling with whale sharks guided by local fishermen. Meanwhile, COMO’s two Bhutan lodges, COMO Uma Paro and COMO Uma Punakha, offer guests a farm-to-table experience, enjoying meals with local families.
Other experiences include truffle hunting in Tuscany, hiking in the Dolomites, and enjoying tennis in London’s private Belgrave Garden Square. Each experience encapsulates COMO’s dedication to offering travellers rare access to extraordinary places and moments.
