AUSTRALIA | As Sydney prepares to host Coldplay’s highly anticipated Music of the Spheres Tour concerts at Accor Stadium next week, hotels across Greater Sydney have experienced a surge in bookings.
Booking demand across Accor’s Sydney hotels has risen by 18 per cent (10.7 occupancy points) over the concert dates when compared to the same period last year.
Accor Stadium, renowned for its state-of-the-art facilities and capacity for large-scale events, will serve as the ultimate destination for Coldplay fans.
Over the four concerts taking place at Accor Stadium in November, Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres Tour is set to captivate an audience of more than 300,000 fans and recently made history as the highest-grossing rock tour ever.
It became the first rock tour and only the second after Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour to surpass $1 billion in revenue.
Accor data revealed that fans had booked further in advance to secure their preferred accommodation. On average, bookings were made 90 days in advance, a 140 percent increase from the previous year.
“It’s clear that fans are not only eager to travel for their favourite artists, but they’re also planning well in advance. While events like these are non-discretionary leisure experiences for many, we’re finding that fans are willing to invest more to make the most of the occasion and create a once-in-a-lifetime experience," said Accor Pacific Chief Operating Officer PM&E, Adrian Williams.
“This highlights the vital role major events play in driving tourism and stimulating economic activity. Our hotel teams are ready to welcome fans and will go above and beyond to deliver the highest level of service, ensuring an incredible concert experience. We want each guest to feel that they’re part of something truly special.”
Similar to Sydney, Accor’s hotels in Melbourne and Auckland have experienced a significant increase in bookings over Coldplay’s concert dates.
Accor’s Melbourne hotels currently hold five percent more bookings (+2.9 occupancy points) over the concert dates, with Auckland seeing an increase of more than 14% percent (+9.2 occupancy points) when compared to the previous year.
From luxurious accommodation to budget-friendly options, Accor has many choices to suit every fan's preferences. For fans still looking to secure their accommodation for this eagerly anticipated event, making hotel reservations as soon as possible is advised to guarantee availability during the concert period.
Members of Accor’s lifestyle loyalty programme, ALL, can take advantage of exclusive invitations to redeem Reward points to experience the luxurious ALL hospitality suite at Accor Stadium, where, along with Coldplay, artists like Oasis are playing, in addition to the biggest sporting events such as State of Origin.
