AI Travel Trends Continue to Evolve

USA | AI has proven to be the ongoing leading trend for hoteliers in the APAC region, according to a global survey.

Duetto, a revenue management software provider for the hospitality industry based in San Francisco, has unveiled its 2025 hospitality trends report, revealing that AI, changing traveller demographics, loyalty programs, and technological innovation continue to be trending, shaping the industry this year, according to a global survey of hoteliers.

Results of the survey highlight that AI will continue to revolutionise hospitality, with it being ranked 4.5 out of five in importance. Real-time decision-making, based on vast amounts of data, will allow hoteliers to dynamically price, personalise per guest, and maximise occupancy and revenue.

AI has allowed for real-time pricing adjustments based on customer behaviour, competitor actions, and market conditions, creating more responsive pricing strategies. AI-driven platforms can deliver tailored guest experiences that enhance satisfaction and foster loyalty.  By optimising inventory and pricing strategies, hotels can achieve higher profitability while maintaining competitive pricing.

"AI’s ability to analyse vast amounts of data in real-time will revolutionise forecasting and revenue operations," said Christian Pirodon, Founder of CP Hospitality.

"It enables us to move beyond guesswork, using actionable insights to make smarter, faster decisions that align with shifting market conditions and customer expectations."

The APAC region has continued to navigate volatility, with shifting customer behaviours and the generational divide making the landscape more complex than ever.

Pirodon said the industry can no longer rely on historical data to guide its decisions. Market conditions and customer preferences are shifting too quickly.

Younger, price-sensitive travellers are becoming a dominant force, while older generations, typically more loyal, are reducing their travel activity. As a result, properties must adapt to these market shifts by aligning with the changing expectations of these travellers.

Loyalty programs remain a cornerstone of long-term customer relationships, but traditional models are no longer sufficient. To stay competitive, APAC hotels must innovate their loyalty offerings to cater to modern travellers. AI will drive this transformation by analysing customer data to personalise offers and enhance the guest experience.

“To stay competitive, membership clubs need to evolve — becoming more innovative, adaptable, and tailored to individual needs,” notes Pirodon.

The APAC hospitality sector has been slower than other regions in fully embracing technological innovation, despite the 61.1 percent of survey respondents who aim to increase their technology budgets.

To accelerate digital transformation, it’s important to start with education — incorporating revenue management and digital transformation into hospitality curriculums to better prepare the next generation of leaders — and government policy incentives.

"These incentives motivate hotels to adopt digital solutions, accelerating innovation within the industry," said Pirodon.

By leveraging AI and data-driven insights, responding to evolving traveller expectations, and modernising loyalty programs, the APAC hospitality industry can overcome this year’s challenges and capitalise on emerging opportunities.
