UK | Garner Hotel Edinburgh has marked the brand's debut in Scotland, a bold new market launch ahead of the summer season.

IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has announced the opening of Garner Hotel Edinburgh, Haymarket, a 195-room flagship hotel bringing a fresh energy to the city’s West End ahead of Scotland’s vibrant summer festival season. This property opens in partnership with Palm Holdings, a virtual family-owned real estate and hospitality company.

Located directly opposite Haymarket Station and just steps from Edinburgh Castle, the EICC, Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh Zoo, and Princes Street, this convenient new hotel is the latest addition to IHG Hotels & Resorts’ fast-growing midscale conversion brand, Garner Hotels, launched in 2023 and rapidly expanding across Europe.

Garner Hotel Haymarket Edinburgh aligns with the brand’s ethos of offering reliable, quality stays with essential comforts. Garner hotels have an unrivalled commitment to deliver what guests expect and the amenities they value most. From a convenient location, a great night’s sleep, satisfying snacks available from the Garner Shop in the lobby area and a delicious breakfast worth getting up for.

“With this new opening, we’re excited to see Garner by IHG arrive in Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital and one of the UK’s most iconic destinations. Garner hotels are built for comfort, value and simplicity. Edinburgh is the perfect fit,” said Joanna Kurowska, Managing Director for UK and Ireland.

Designed for travellers who value ease and reliability, the hotel offers modern rooms, plush bedding, blackout blinds, parking, 24/7 snack access, and convenient grab-and-go breakfast options.

What sets this opening apart is a strong sense of community connection. The hotel partners with local favourite Platform 5, located next door, to provide a hearty sit-down breakfast option and exclusive food and drink discounts for guests.

“Our collaboration with Palm Holdings brings a unique offer to guests, a true taste of Scottish hospitality, backed by Greene King’s pub heritage,” said Rhys Worthington, Business Development Manager, Belhaven, Greene King.

“We’re proud to open a hotel that doesn’t just welcome guests, it supports local jobs, celebrates Scottish culture, and gives back to the community,” said Ricky Kapoor, Managing Director of Palm Holdings.

“One initiative we are running for a limited time is to donate £1 per guest stay to Action Against Hunger, part of our ongoing commitment to positive social impact. That’s what meaningful hospitality looks like.”
