USA | Industry veteran Mark Weatherill has joined the team at Waikīkī Beach Marriott Resort & Spa as its new general manager.

Waikīkī Beach Marriott Resort & Spa has announced the appointment of Mark Weatherill as General Manager. Weatherill brings with him over four decades of hospitality leadership experience across managed and franchise hotel operations, with a proven track record of team development, financial performance and property transformation. In his new role, Weatherill will oversee all aspects of the resort’s operations, guest experience and strategic growth, with a focus on elevating service standards and deepening the resort’s cultural connections to the destination.

Weatherill began his career with Marriott in 1984 at the Sheraton Cavalier and has since held diverse leadership roles, including Director of Rooms, Director of Food & Beverage, Director of Operations and General Manager. He most recently served as Complex General Manager at The Westin Galleria Houston and The Westin Oaks Houston at the Galleria, where he successfully led the team through a 36-month renovation while increasing profitability and associate engagement scores. Both hotels were named Hotel of the Year in the U.S. & Canada in the Managed by Marriott Full Service Awards under his guidance. Weatherill’s strategic leadership at properties such as The Westin Buckhead Atlanta and the Memorial City Hotel Complex in Houston has earned him accolades in financial performance, guest satisfaction and team engagement. 

Weatherill, from Calgary, Alberta, is a former Vice Chairman of the Board for Tourism Calgary and holds multiple leadership and revenue management certificates from Cornell University. In his spare time, he enjoys golf.
