SPAIN | CoolRooms Hotels has expanded its portfolio in Asturias with the purchase of the luxury hotel, Palacio de Luces.

CoolRooms Hotels has formalised the sale of Palacio de Luces, a landmark luxury property located in Asturias, which will now become part of the Único Hotels collection, entering a new phase in its evolution.

This transaction reflects CoolRooms Hotels’ role as one of the companies actively shaping the positioning of luxury tourism in Spain through authenticity, respect for destination, and a carefully curated approach to hospitality, while continuing to pursue a sustainable and distinctive growth strategy.

CoolRooms Hotels continues to advance its international expansion strategy, remaining committed to elevating the art of travel through unique experiences deeply connected to each destination. As part of this roadmap, the company is preparing new openings in key destinations, including Palacio Duarte in Porto (opening this year), as well as future projects in Lisbon and Granada, further strengthening its position as a culturally driven luxury brand.

Over the years, Palacio de Luces has been much more than a hotel for CoolRooms Hotels. It has been a project where history, landscape, authenticity and sensitivity have come together to create deeply meaningful guest experiences and a strong positioning within Spain’s experiential luxury segment.

“Palacio de Luces has been a very special project for CoolRooms Hotels and a clear reflection of our approach to hospitality, deeply connected to destination, culture and identity,” said Miguel Ardid, President of CoolRooms Hotels.

“This transaction responds to a shared vision of the sector, where respect for the environment, authenticity and excellence in service are essential to creating truly distinctive experiences. We are proud of what has been achieved and confident that Palacio de Luces will continue to evolve with the same care and sensitivity.”

During its time under CoolRooms Hotels, the property has become a benchmark in Northern Spain, recognised for its seamless integration within the Asturian landscape, its distinctive gastronomic offering, and its ability to deliver genuine and memorable experiences.
