One-night, Eight-Course Degustation at La Marée, Sofitel

Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour’s restaurant La Marée will host an exclusive one-night collaboration dinner with Parnell restaurant Rhu for an eight-course degustation.

La Marée is Sofitel Auckland’s waterfront restaurant, an airy, elegant space that has paired the refinement of French cuisine with distinctly New Zealand flair. Its menu has turned the country’s best seafood and seasonal produce into dishes that feel both familiar and new, using classic French technique.

At the helm is Executive Chef Maninder Singh Panesar, whose cooking has balanced creativity with sustainability and has made the restaurant one of the most compelling tables on the Auckland waterfront.

The Rhu × La Marée collaboration will see both teams cook side by side on one shared menu centred on New Zealand produce, which moves through seafood, vegetables and lamb.

The menu can be matched course by course with New Zealand wines from Marlborough, the Awatere Valley, Waiheke Island, Hawke’s Bay and Central Otago.

For Achut Dhungana, Food and Beverage Manager at Sofitel Auckland, bringing Rhu into the La Marée kitchen was a great collaboration with two culinary teams sharing ideas, produce and technique over one menu.

“It’s a celebration of New Zealand’s produce and wine, and a rare chance for our guests to experience both kitchens in a single sitting.”

Rhu × La Marée will be held on Saturday, the 26th of September 2026, from 6.00 pm at La Marée, Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour.
