The Langham Auckland was announced as the winner of an internal competition put in motion by corporate sustainability director, Carmen Ng. Ng asked all Langham hotels worldwide to create a completely sustainable Christmas tree for the holiday season, to which Auckland took home top prize.

The tree was made entirely of oyster and paua shells which were sourced from Eight restaurant.

“The task soon became a labour of love for us here at The Langham Auckland as we carefully crafted a tree that not only showcases the natural beauty of our ocean - but also New Zealand and its people too,” said Franz Mascarenhas, managing director, The Langham Auckland.
