ACCORHOTELS INTRODUCE MINDFUL MEETINGS BY MERCURE

With health, wellbeing and sustainability increasingly top of mind for clients when it comes to booking business events, AccorHotels has launched Mindful Meetings by Mercure Hotels, a new signature offering at Mercure Hotels across Australia.

Designed to deliver richer, more meaningful meeting experiences, the concept establishes mindfulness as a key strategic pillar in delivering successful business events. Mindful Meetings aim to drive better outcomes for clients and events that are more fun and engaging for delegates.

The packages remove the hard work for clients. Meeting spaces are dressed to inspire collaboration, food and beverage options are designed to promote concentration and a suite of creative interventions, ranging from meditation to energy boosting activities, have been developed to ensure the mood and energy of delegates is maintained throughout the day.

Meeting rooms are styled to cultivate attention and to drive productivity by making delegates ‘feel good’. This is done by using indoor plants to improve air quality and diffusers to create a calm, relaxed environment, and rooms are arranged to make the most of natural light and fresh air where possible.

To help delegates stay fuelled and alert, renowned nutritionist, health writer and founder of A Healthy View, Michele Chevalley Hedge, has designed a menu. Hedge’s recipes make the most of clean, whole food ingredients using only natural sugar or low sugar choices to keep delegates satisfied throughout their entire meeting.

“Maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle when travelling on business or attending events can be a challenge, which is why we’re really excited to launch the new mindful meetings concept at Mercure Hotels,” director of sales - meetings and events for AccorHotels Australia, Charlotte Gutte said.

“We’ve placed great emphasis on creating more space for minds to perform at their best, and have enlisted the expertise of Michele Chevalley Hedge who has created some delicious recipes to fuel the body with energy-boosting foods that can sustain delegates past the three o’clock slump. Mercure Sydney has been one of the first hotels to introduce Mindful Meetings and has already received excellent feedback from clients and delegates.”

In addition to being mindful, meetings at Mercure Hotels are carbon neutral. By funding renewable energy sources through the Carbon Reduction Institute, Mercure fund the cost of the offsets and do not pass them onto clients. Mercure is part of the AccorHotels’ sustainable development program, Planet 21.
