From pillow forts to M&Ms in specific colours, hotel staff put up with some strange requests.
One US businessman has found a way to make his hotel stays a little more entertaining by making ridiculous requests for the staff to carry out tasks, who were only too happy to accommodate him.
In one photo posted to Imgur, he asks for a fort of pillows. Although the hotel staff said they cannot guarantee additional requests, they obliged, constructing the cozy-looking fort on his bed alongside a note saying “you’re welcome”.
“If it’s not too much trouble could you build a fort out of pillows? It’s definitely not for a 28-year-old male.”
That was all it took to set the ball rolling, and for the requests to become even more bizarre.
The businessman next asks for a picture of a dog dressed as a boat captain to be placed on his bed.
“Please provide a picture of a dog dressed as a boat captain and place on my bed, thank you.”
Then he asks for staff to draw a portrait of what they thought he looks like. A bearded young professional, it turns out.
“If you could please draw a picture of what you think I look like and place on my bed I would appreciate it.”
In another request, he asks for a picture of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor Alfonso Ribeiro to be placed beside a picture of Baywatch actor Jeremy Jackson as though they are looking at each other.
“Please print out a picture of Alfonso Ribeiro and Jeremy Jackson and place on the bed like they’re looking at each other.”
He’s not the only traveler to have had success with outlandish demands.
Another user posted a picture of their special hotel request, which included three red M&Ms to be placed on the counter, and a picture of bacon to be put on the bed.
When they showed up to the Woodlands Resort in Texas, they found three single red M&Ms, and an elaborately framed photograph of bacon.
Now that’s customer service.
