The private resort of Hayman Island, Queensland, has undergone a A$135 million refurbishment. Guests can expect the highest standards of luxury and service in one of the world's most desirable destinations.
The 166-room resort, managed by InterContinental Hotels Group, joins over 200 InterContinental Hotels & Resorts worldwide, and is the first of four InterContinental Resorts to open in 2019. The next to open will be ANA InterContinental Beppu Resort & spa, followed by InterContintental Maldives Maamunagu Resort and InterContinental Phuket Resort.
The new Hayman Island refurbishment - led by a group of designers and architects including DBI Designs, DAARC, and KY Design - offers visitors three distinct wings of guest rooms, suites, and villas which hug the coastline of the island and boast views of the Coral Sea.
“We are tremendously proud to welcome our first guests to Hayman Island," said Leanne Harwood, Managing Director of Australasia and Japan for IHG. "InterContinental has been a pioneer in luxury travel for over 70 years and Hayman Island has become pivotal in our expansion plans for Australasia as we continue to open and operate in the most highly sought-after destinations in the world.”
