Valor Hospitality Partners Significantly Expands Brand in UK

Valor Hospitality Partners, a global, full-service hotel Management Company offering a full suite of services, announced today their most recent operating agreement with the addition of 17 regional IHG Hotels & Resorts branded hotels in partnership with owner MCAP Global Finance (UK) LLP, an affiliate of New York-based investment manager Marathon Asset Management, L.P. (“Marathon”). The addition of the expansive hotel portfolio doubles the global hospitality management company's United Kingdom footprint. This growth is fueled by Valor’s guiding principle to offer unique, differentiated experiences for travellers that foster genuine connections with people and cultures, driven by their worldwide team of ‘Hotelitarians’. In turn, this leads to industry-leading commercial results and returns for Valor’s ownership groups.

“To say we are highly motivated about this partnership in the United Kingdom is an understatement. Marathon is one of our most trusted and longstanding partners and we are so grateful to be expanding our footprint with them again,” said Euan McGlashan, CEO and global co-founder of Valor Hospitality Partners.

“Post-COVID, Valor Hospitality is in the process of reimagining the hotel landscape in the United Kingdom, and we are thrilled to continue collaborating with new, as well as existing owners with this expansion goal firmly in our focus. Importantly, we are 100 percent committed to ensuring we deliver significant upside and strong commercial returns for our owners.”

As Valor Hospitality’s newest addition, this portfolio consists of a total of 2,374 guestrooms across 15 Holiday Inns and two Crowne Plazas. These branded, full-service hotels are strategically located in key regional markets across the United Kingdom, including Leeds, Leicester, Reading and Southampton. With the addition of these well-positioned hotels, Valor Hospitality’s United Kingdom locations will be at the forefront as the global hospitality industry bounces back from COVID-19.

Each of the properties in the portfolio represents well-positioned, branded hotels that offer a range of amenities for travellers, from full leisure clubs with swimming pools to spa amenities, and recent renovations to guestrooms, public spaces, dining outlets and meeting and event venues. Many of the hotels will receive further upgrades and, in some cases, possibly up-branding. The United Kingdom expansion is yet another step by Valor Hospitality to transform the hotel landscape in the region and across the globe.

"We are delighted to be given this opportunity by Marathon and are massively excited about starting the next chapter with them. We think this is a testament to a job well done by Valor on their behalf over the past few years," said Brian McCarthy, Managing Director UK & Europe.

"For Valor, here in the UK, it should encourage other owners to consider our organisation when choosing a third-party management company. It also allows us to play a key role in the ongoing evolution of Valor as it becomes a best in class, truly global management company. We couldn’t be happier as we embrace the challenges ahead, delivering culturally and commercially for Marathon and sincerely appreciate their trust in us."
