IHG Signs First Hotel on the NSW South Coast

IHG Hotels & Resorts continues to expand with the announcement of the signing of its first hotel in NSW’s picturesque South Coast, Crowne Plaza Shell Cove Marina, set to open in 2025, following an agreement with Oscars Group.

The new contemporary hotel will be part of a $1.5 billion master-planned coastal residential, commercial and tourist project within the Shellharbour region. The development comprises an artificial inshore harbour, a 270-berth marina, a vibrant town centre, supermarket, retail outlets, restaurants, library, community centre, parklands – and Crowne Plaza Shell Cove Marina.

The 181-key property will showcase IHG’s new hallmark design innovations and trademark features, including the Plaza Workspace, interiors catering to foot traffic, an extensive meeting and events venue, an outdoor pool, and three food and beverage outlets - a cafe, restaurant and bar.

Marking the hospitality giant’s regional expansion into the NSW South Coast, Crowne Plaza Shell Cove Marina has a prime location in the buzzing heart of Shellharbour in close vicinity to Wollongong, just 1.5 hours drive from Sydney. The hotel also provides convenient access to the region’s natural attractions, such as diving and snorkelling at Bass Point, surfing and swimming at local beaches, or golf at the 18-hole championship Links Shell Cove golf course.

Crowne Plaza Shell Cove Marina builds on a successful partnership as IHG’s second hotel with Oscars Group.

“We’re thrilled to be extending our reach across regional NSW with the addition of this stylish, design-forward hotel on the NSW South Coast, highlighting the increasing demand for contemporary new hotels in regional NSW,” said Matt Tripolone, Managing Director for IHG Hotels & Resorts Australasia & Pacific.”

“We are excited to be continuing our strong relationship with the Oscars Group and look forward to breaking ground on this landmark development.”
