Australia Welcomes First Holiday Inn Express & Suites Hotel

The highly anticipated Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sunshine Coast has officially opened its doors, marking the introduction of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites brand in Australia.

A joint partnership between Pro-invest Hotels and IHG Hotels & Resorts, the new accommodation is the ideal base to explore one of Australia’s most popular year-round destinations, offering unbeatable value in the heart of Maroochydore City.

“We are incredibly proud to continue our great partnership with Pro-invest as they open another extraordinary IHG-branded hotel – the much anticipated Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sunshine Coast. We are proud to be known for our culture of ‘firsts’ in this market, and to open the first Holiday Inn Express with a ‘suites’ offering in Australia is a testament to that spirit and our long-standing partnership,” said Matthew Tripolone, Managing Director, IHG Australasia & Pacific.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sunshine Coast features 181 guestrooms and suites thoughtfully designed to offer a convenient and comfortable stay. Each room includes high-speed WiFi, study nooks, premium bedding and the brand’s signature ‘Express Recharge’ concept, which comprises a pillow menu, black-out blinds and a walk-in power shower.

Additionally, each of the 41 one-bedroom suites has been designed to provide maximum comfort and functionality with full-service facilities, including a kitchenette, a small living area with a sofa bed and pod coffee machines. Guests can relax with freshly brewed coffee from the comfort of their suites.

For a seamless and comfortable experience, Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sunshine Coast offers a complimentary Express Start Breakfast, including hot and cold options, or the Express Start Breakfast Grab & Go option for those in a rush.

After a busy day discovering all the Sunshine Coast has to offer, guests can take a dip in the heated rooftop pool while soaking up the scenic views of Maroochydore from the multi-purpose deck. In addition, the hotel offers a 24-hour reception with express check-in and check-out, a fitness room, self-service laundry and secure onsite parking.

Business travellers can also take advantage of two flexible meeting rooms and workspaces. Meanwhile, The Great Room provides a thoughtfully designed common space where guests can unwind and catch up with friends over a drink.

According to Shantha de Silva, Chief Operating Officer, Pro-invest Hotels, the launch of Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sunshine Coast is a positive sign in the local tourism industry.

“Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sunshine Coast is, without a doubt, the perfect place to stay when visiting this beautiful region, especially for those wanting to discover all the natural wonders available right on the hotel’s doorstep. From pristine local beaches to sub-tropical rainforests and unique coastal villages,” said de Silva.

“As travel around Australia resumes, people have been flocking to Queensland and rediscovering the region, particularly the Sunshine Coast. Having this brand new hotel in the heart of Maroochydore, a central hub for the region, will be of great benefit and convenience to the community. We look forward to working with them and the industry to drive further visitation to the area”.

With a commitment to sustainability, Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sunshine Coast aims for a high NABERS Energy and Water rating and a Net Zero 2030 goal by continually minimising its environmental footprint. The hotel engages in sustainable practices with energy-efficient equipment and systems throughout the property, eliminating single-use plastics and using bulk amenities instead of one-time-use disposable bathroom amenities.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sunshine Coast also offers ‘A Greener Stay’ initiative. This allows guests to reduce their environmental footprint when staying two or more nights by opting out of housekeeping services to help save energy and water and reduce waste output.
