Now Open: Lockwood Hotel

Lockwood Hotel is officially open, bringing the first boutique experience and a new accommodation to downtown Waterville's Main Street in over a century. Front & Main, the onsite restaurant, is already elevating the city's culinary landscape with a hyper-local menu showcasing the best of Maine's farms, fields, bays, and oceans. With a sleek, modern, yet decidedly Maine aesthetic, Lockwood Hotel serves as a base for discovery with easy access to the endless arts, culture, and outdoor attractions in Waterville and beyond.

Developed by Colby College and managed by Charlestowne Hotels, the Lockwood Hotel marks a significant milestone in the downtown Waterville revitalisation initiative, a collaborative partnership between the city, local businesses, community organisations, and Colby College.

Other projects highlighting the significant momentum in the city include the Bill & Joan Alfond Main Street Commons - a student residential complex on Main Street; Greene Block + Studios - an arts collaborative directly opposite the hotel; and the upcoming Paul J. Schupf Art Centre. Additional initiatives downtown include an infrastructure and landscape improvement project and ongoing renovation of the Lockwood Mill complex for housing and retail use.

Investments by Colby College to support the revival of Waterville have attracted a wide range of investors and new businesses to the city, with total investment downtown from public and private sources now close to 200 million dollars. This dynamic activity is bringing new economic energy to downtown, contributing to the quality of life for locals and growing the city's reputation as an arts and culture destination.
