From 1st December 2022, Marsden Hotels and Resorts will introduce the Marsden Lake Resort Central Otago to their portfolio. With elegant villas and glistening lake vistas beneath a vast mountain range, Marsden will offer a unique holiday experience for locals and travellers.
Located on the shores of Lake Dunstan, Cromwell, the 62-room boatshed-themed accommodation offers bedroom villas, large overwater desks, private moorings for boats or jet skis, and direct access to waterways. The rooms on the upper level are a mix of studio types with breathtaking mountain and lake views, ideal for couples or business stays.
Moorings Restaurant is an on-site restaurant, cafe, and wine bar with à la carte dining. With selections of award-winning wines by local growers, such as the world’s finest Central Otago Pinot Noir, the venue also grants enough space for more significant events like weddings and group functions.

This resort's location is ideal for summer activities such as swimming, fishing, boating, and water sports on Lake Dunstan. In the wintertime, five ski fields are all within easy driving distance, and towns such as Queenstown, Arrowtown, and Wanaka are close for exploring at one's leisure. With the Dunstan Cycle Trial nearby, the historic Clyde township is not far to go and sight-see.
Michael Osborne, Marsden Groups Executive Director of Development and Planning, explained the property is the second resort-style venue for Marsden Group. This is after the award-winning Castaways Resort in Kariotahi Beach, Auckland, was established in 2018.

“We’re really excited to welcome this leading resort to our portfolio, offering our domestic and international leisure guests another choice when travelling to this stunning part of the country,” said Osborne.
His team are looking forward to announcing a third resort-style property joining Marsden in early 2023.
