IHG Partner with China Duty Free for Shop and Stay Experience

IHG One Rewards, the global loyalty program under IHG Hotels and Resorts (IHG), has announced its collaboration with China Duty-Free on member privileges sharing scheme. Under the partnership, both parties integrate their resource advantages and provide excellent operational standards and service quality to members. This collaboration centres around Hainan's thriving tourism and duty-free consumption market, covering a range of privileges such as stays at IHG Hotels and Resorts properties and duty-free shopping domestically and internationally, creating the ultimate “Stay and Shop” experience for global travellers.

Chief Marketing Officer for IHG Greater China, Florence Hu,  said that with 48 years in China and 39 years’ deep involvement in the mainland market, IHG has consistently focused on the diverse needs and immense potential of the Chinese market.

“Aligned with the national development strategy and seizing the opportunities of dual circulation, IHG understands market trends and consumer demands. We are actively contributing to the growth of China's cultural tourism and consumption market. This partnership with cdf members will leverage the Hainan Free Trade Port as a crucial platform for pioneering a new path for the tourism industry. This innovative integration of duty-free shopping with hotel stays will empower Chinese and international jet setters with a rich array of premium benefits, resulting in a highly-coveted travel experience,” said Hu.

As the tourism industry’s recovery advances, new environments, customer segments, and demands have reshaped China's tourism landscape. The pairing of “travel and duty-free shopping” has become an essential trend in the industry’s development. As international leaders in their respective sectors, IHG and China Duty-Free are deepening their partnership for the first time to enhance member experiences, catering to these trends while leveraging each other’s advantages. The partners also aim to drive innovative forms of consumption while supporting the global tourism industry.

Deputy General Manager of China Duty-Free Group Co, Chang Zhujun, expressed that the China Duty-Free Group has established long-term and stable partnerships with over 1,300 global brands, and for the last two years, has stood as the world's largest travel retailer.

“Our China Duty-Free Membership system serves over 29 million members with four major value-added services: shopping, travel, hotels, and attractions. Now, our partnership with IHG is built on a foundation of trust and cooperation. Centred in the key destination of Hainan, a global hub for duty-free shopping and tourism, we are forging our collective strengths to create an experience of “travel how you travel” for consumers," said Zhujun.

In the future, IHG will continue to uphold an international perspective, delivering increasingly personalised service experiences to meet the diverse travel needs of consumers and craft unique travel experiences.
