InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa has announced the appointment of two talented local professionals to its sales team.
Sariza Shafique has been appointed as the new director of sales for luxury and leisure, whilst Walter Alexander has been selected as director of sales for MICE and weddings.
Shafique brings over six years of experience in proactive and reactive sales within international hotel chains. She will be responsible for driving sales performance, expanding market share in luxury travel, and cultivating strong relationships with global consortia partners and luxury travel advisors. Sariza has previously held sales roles at the Grand Pacific Hotel and across diverse industries in Suva.
Alexander brings over 15 years of tourism experience, primarily in Groups and Events, including well-rounded expertise gained from working with prominent stakeholders in the Fijian tourism industry. For the past five years, Walter excelled as a Sales Manager within international hotel chains, specialising in MICE from Australia and New Zealand.
As the director of sales of MICE and weddings at InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa, Walter will spearhead sales performance in these key segments while collaborating closely with the team to develop and execute the resort's group sales strategy for the upcoming years.
Area general manager for IHG Hotels and Resorts in the South Pacific region, Lachlan Walker, said that it was exciting to have the two young, talented Fijian leaders join the team.
“Their knowledge and passion are a fantastic addition to our leadership team, who are committed to delivering unparalleled luxury guest experiences,” said Walker.
