One year on as Cordis, Auckland

In November 2017, New Zealand’s luxury hotel The Langham rebranded to become the Cordis, Auckland.

The hotel underwent a full renovation with the name change, renovating all 411 rooms and suites, as well as the Lobby Lounge and the Club Lounge.

One of the hotel’s highlights over the last year is the development of its Cordis Kids Programme where activities and amenities like scavenger hunts board game, and a children's menu at Eight Restaurant are prepared for the little guests.

The programme is designed to make sure everyone in the family enjoys their stay – not just the adults.

“At Cordis, Auckland, every guest, big or small are important and we want to make sure they all have a memorable stay with us,” said Franz Mascarenhas, managing director, Cordis, Auckland

Cordis has also doubled down on its afternoon tea offerings, which it was already renowned for at The Langham. Now with the renovated Lobby Lounge, Cordis offers guests a luxury high tea experience, currently serving three high teas themed after the new Disney films Christopher Robin, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, and Mary Poppins Returns.

To coincide with the one-year anniversary, Cordis has also launched a new “Locally Yours” advertising campaign, as well as four new hotel stay packages; ‘Family’, ‘Explorer’, ‘Foodies’ and ‘Wellness’. The packages each have a local focus, but with a unique itinerary. Cordis has partnered with the GO Play programme as well, giving guests discounted access to over 200 activities across the country.

“We love our neighbourhood and we want our guests to love it too by helping them discover the great local experiences that we have at our doorstep. From the best coffee shops and the coolest restaurants to exploring the city on our electrical bikes or catching our shuttle bus into the main shopping streets, the Auckland Zoo or the Auckland Art Gallery,” said Mascarenhas.
