Mercure has announced four new hotels in New Zealand and Australia.

The Accorhotels midscale hotel brand revealed plans to open hotels in Auckland, Canberra, Gold Coast and Melbourne.

Mercure Auckland Queen Street, opening 2019, will be a 96-room hotel spanning eight stories. Located in Auckland’s CBD, the hotel will feature a restaurant, conference room and fitness centre. The hotel is being created within an existing building, retrofitted to become a Mercure hotel.

Mercure Canberra Belconnen is coming by way of a partnership with Canberra Club Limited and will open in 2019. The five-storey building will host 125 rooms and adjoin the Canberra Labor Club

In the Gold Coast, Mercure Southport will be a new building with 130 rooms. The hotel will be located in the heart of Southport, near the waterfront and Australia Fair Shopping Centre. The hotel is part of a larger residential and retail precinct.

Another new build, mixed-use Mercure hotel will be built in Melbourne, with Mercure Melbourne Doncaster, opening 2021. Featuring 190-rooms across six floors, the development will also include two levels of retail and a restaurant and bar, fitness centre and function room.

The four new hotels mean Mercure now has 50 hotels in the Pacific region.
