Auckland Airport and Uber have partnered in efforts to streamline transport between the airport and the wider Auckland area. From the 20th of March, a dedicated rideshare area will be available at Auckland’s domestic and international terminals.
Amanda Gilmore, country manager of Uber New Zealand, said, “Facilitating travel to and from airports nationwide is a massive focus for us, and we’re extremely pleased Auckland Airport has decided to provide dedicated space for ridesharing.”
Since launching in Auckland in 2014, Uber has become an increasingly popular way to navigate the city. Richard Barker, general manager of retail and commercial, Auckland Airport, said, “Everything we do is about connecting New Zealanders to each other and the world. We aim to provide the best possible traveller experience and partnering with Uber is an important part of our overall journey to build the airport of the future.”
In addition to the new pickup areas, Uber is launching digital billboards to aid in directing customers to their zones at both terminals.
