New General Manager for Sofitel Melbourne.

Sofitel Melbourne on Collins has announced that Rachel Harman will be the next General Manager, upon the retirement of out-going general manager, Clive Scott AM. Harman has had a varied career throughout hospitality and tourism over the past 20 years, having held leadership roles in Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Singapore in various luxury hotels. She has recently been the general manager of Sofitel Adelaide, where she oversaw the launch of the luxury property in Hometown.

Harman said she is looking forward to returning to Melbourne to take up the position.

“I am thrilled to continue my Sofitel journey by joining the Sofitel Melbourne On Collins team as General Manager,” she said.

“Having recently undergone an extensive $15 million refurbishment, they have set the benchmark for luxury hotels in Melbourne, and it’s an honour to carry on the incredible work undertaken by Mr Scott over the past 18 years.”

Scott has been appointed to the consultant role of Sofitel Arts Ambassador for Australia, praised for his work building a world-class arts programme during his time as general manager of Sofitel Melbourne, which has coined the phrase as being ‘Melbourne’s Hotel for the Arts’. He will now direct his focus on developing a similar reputation across all Sofitel locations in Australia.
